white dwarf: A small star that has
burned off all its nuclear fuel but still
glows from residual heat. White
dwarfs are about the size of the Earth.
When a white dwarf has radiated all
of its residual heat and no longer
glows it is called a black dwarf.
Black dwarfs emit very little light and
do not have sufficient mass to trigger
nuclear reactions in their cores.
